ALL THESE SEXIST GAMER DUDES ARE SOME SHOOK ONES.

I think my favorite part is the air quotes around misandry.

As if I need an excuse to reblog Jay Smooth.

Ending today’s Feminist Friday with this amazing video by Jay Smooth.

All the characters I’ve posted today have been argued over, debated, used as catalysts for incredibly heated discussions about the role of women in video games. Those discussions have been getting more and more frequently, lately, and, perhaps not coincidentally, they are getting a more violent reaction. I hope Tropes vs Women looks at Mass Effect and examines the female characters Bioware has created: their positive aspects and their deeply, deeply problematic ones. And I hope that the kind of ugly backlash Jay Smooth so wonderfully deconstructs here will realise what an asinine and stupid response it is.
